Oral Cancer Awareness Month

Prevention is everything when it comes to cancer and oral cancer is a silent killer and many times goes undetected. And because April is Oral Cancer Awareness Month, do yourself a favor and auto-check your oral health status today.

🚩 Do you have any red or white patches in your mouth or on your lips?

🚩 Have you had any oral/mouth sores, soreness or discomfort that doesn’t seem to heal?

🚩 Do you feel any pain, numbness or tenderness in your mouth or on your lips?

🚩 Have you had any difficulty chewing, swallowing, speaking, or moving your jaw or tongue?

🚩 Do you feel any thickened tissues or lumps, eroded areas or rough spots inside your mouth?

🚩 Have you felt any alterations in the way your teeth fit together when your mouth is closed?

These are red flags for oral cancer. If you’ve replied yes to any of these signs, see your dentist as soon as possible.

The ideal way is to get a full comprehensive check-up with someone practicing Slow Dentistry, not rushing the check-up. It’s also important to check your body inflammation with specific biomarkers and your Vit D, to keep your levels high. Be sure to get a 3D CBCT to ensure there are no hidden cysts or inflamed regions in your jawbone and that a regular X-ray might miss. This is how we have been performing all our check-ups for over 15 years now.

Preventive dentistry is life-saving dentistry.
