Thinker. Educator. Practitioner.
For patients who already know the mouth is where health begins.

Thinker. Educator. Practitioner. Because the mouth-body connection is real.

ABOUT

Dr. Miguel Stanley has practised dentistry for almost thirty years. In 1999, a year after qualifying, he founded White Clinic in Lisbon and has built it into a forty-person multidisciplinary practice with its own digital laboratory, a training academy, and since 2026 a Precision Longevity Medicine department. It is among the first dental practices anywhere to integrate hyperbaric oxygen, cryotherapy and photobiomodulation into surgical care, and to establish a longevity medicine department inside a dental clinic — bringing the mouth–body connection from principle into measured clinical practice. He still treats patients there every day.

His clinical work is complex full-mouth rehabilitation, implant surgery and the correction of failing legacy dental work, planned interdisciplinarily and executed under the Slow Dentistry principles he founded: never more than one patient an hour, never more than eight patients a chair a day. He introduced a succession of technologies to Portuguese dentistry — professional whitening in 2004, cone-beam CT in 2007, 3D-printed surgical guides in 2014, photobiomodulation in 2015 and chairside salivary inflammation testing in 2024 — and moved the clinic’s implantology decisively to ceramic.

Licensed to practise in Portugal, the United Kingdom and Dubai, he has lectured in more than 50 countries across five continents, in four languages — over 300 lectures, keynotes and webinars on implantology, prosthodontics, complex oral surgery, aesthetics, digital dentistry, practice management, ethics and the mouth–body connection. He has given two TEDx talks — London in 2017 and Lisbon in 2025 — and has hosted a documentary on dentistry for National Geographic.

He holds an academic appointment as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and sits on the inaugural Clinical Innovation Board at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine at the invitation of its Dean.

Dr. Stanley is the founder of the Slow Dentistry Global Network, a non-profit with members in over 60 countries; founder of Missing Link, an AI platform screening for hidden oral inflammation; Vice President of the Digital Dentistry Society; and a consultant and key opinion leader to leading companies in the industry. He has created and produced television programmes on dentistry for Portuguese broadcasters and served as Chief Dental Consultant to CBS’s Emmy Award-winning The Doctors in Hollywood. He has been named one of the 32 Most Influential People in Dentistry by Incisal Edge.

His podcast is Biting into Healthcare.

He is a member of the Digital Dentistry Society, and is also a member of the inaugural Clinical Innovation Board at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. A member of many international scientific and academic organisations, Dr. Stanley has published several studies and articles over the years. He is a consultant and Key Opinion Leader for leading dental tech companies and holds a license to practice in the UK and Dubai, besides Portugal.
