SLOW DENTISTRY®

Do you know what a Rubber Dam is? A Rubber Dam is a latex sheath used to isolate one or many teeth during certain dental procedures, such as root canal therapy and fillings. The purpose of the rubber dam is to maintain absolute isolation of the tooth structure so that the patients saliva does not touch the surface during the treatment. This is imperative to improve the adhesion of certain products, and also to maintain the tooth protected from bacteria that could be in the saliva. This is the gold standard in Dentistry. It takes roughly 5 to 10 minutes to set up. It also can help the patient to avoid swallowing chen now swallowing chemicals and\ or instruments. It is a safeguard.
