Meet Rodrigo Santos, my PT

Physical exercise is something that has become a part of my life and my way of being. It really helps me to channel my energy to where I most need it, helping me release the tension from my intense working weeks at the same time.

There are days when I don’t even have time to lunch, in between surgeries, meetings and parallel projects I have besides the clinic, and I believe it is precisely on those days when I mostly realize the importance and the need of staying in shape!

Today I’d like you to meet – through my Channel – my personal trainer, Rodrigo Santos, who’s been accompanying me for the past 6 months. He’s a great professional in his area and has been monitoring my training and is someone whom I trust 100% my physical well-being. After all, I have managed to achieve all of goals I have set for myself. We do a bit of everything, from endurance exercises to strength, balance and flexibility, all the essentials to a balanced training.

Because Rodrigo is a real expert in his area, what he has to teach me, and at the end of the day, to us all, would be something worthy of a gigantic text. Thus, it seemed to me a lot easier, intuitive and realistic to present Rodrigo to you first and later (today, I hope), write another article transcribing Rodrigo’s exact words on some important issues related to well-being, exercise and how it all relates to happiness: the thing all of us look for, right?

From what I gathered, Rodrigo’s passion for sports comes from his childhood. So, it’s easy to understand he’s a practitioner of weight lifting/cardiofitness for more than 15 years. As it always happens when we fall in love with what we do professionally, Rodrigo ended up taking the course of personal trainer about 8 years ago, and has been doing it to this day through the company he  works for, both at home regimen and even outdoors.

When I first heard about clear aligners in the early 2000s (the US Food and Drug Administration approved the use of clear aligners to straighten teeth in 1980), it must have sounded like science fiction. The fact that it was created in Silicon Valley by people who had nothing to do with the dental industry, in seeking solutions that do not require complicated appliances in the mouth, is really an incredible story.
